The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh recently traveled to Japan to invite prominent business tycoons to invest in the state. His meetings with several industrial leaders were reportedly very successful, with commitments amounting to hundreds of lakhs expressed during these discussions, according to sources. The most noteworthy and emotionally charged meeting was with the owner of Suzuki Motors, as sources reveal. Initially, Yogi emphasized his desire to establish the largest Suzuki Motors plant in Uttar Pradesh and pledged to allocate land greater in size than the existing Gurugram facility, according to sources.

During the owner's speech, he expressed that the Gurugram plant was established by his father and holds significant emotional value as it is the most profitable unit of his company. He added that his father was inspired by the vision of the young Sanjay Gandhi, who aimed to create a car manufacturing unit affordable for the average Indian. This sentiment suggests he may be opposed to Yogi’s proposal to relocate the plant from Gurugram to any other location in UP. Suzuki misunderstood Yogi’s proposition and voiced concerns, but in the meantime, the officers present at the meeting clarified that the Chief Minister wanted a new plant in UP, not a relocation. Suzuki promptly corrected himself and assured that the company would set up another facility as proposed by the CM, according to sources.
