The said individual, reputed to be an arrogant Chief Minister of Assam, has now fallen in line with party directives. As Assam prepares for the upcoming assembly elections, all political parties are actively engaged in intense campaigning. Sources indicate that the tone and stubborn approach of the current Chief Minister are not favourably viewed by senior local elected representatives and other influential political figures in the state. To safeguard the BJP's prospects and ensure victory, several senior leaders including Members of Parliament, former office bearers, and representatives from like-minded parties met with a senior party leader in Delhi. During these discussions, they expressed concerns about the behaviour and attitude of the CM.

One former party president remarked that although the CM is leading the state government, his conduct seems to reflect the Congress DNA, according to sources. Such behaviour, if left unchecked, could significantly damage the party's prospects. The senior leader responded by emphasising that the BJP is poised for victory and assured that all leaders would be consulted to determine the next Chief Minister. Subsequently, the message was relayed to the CM, who immediately convened a press conference. During his address, his tone shifted markedly. He declared that he would serve as a soldier of the BJP for the rest of his life and dedicate himself to the party's service, according to sources. Those present at the press conference were surprised by this change in attitude and expressed gratitude to the senior leaders for timely conveying the party's concerns, which was deemed in the best interest of the party.
