The ex CM of Bihar, Nitish Kumar played a vital role in installing Samrat Chaudhary, a BJP candidate as CM of Bihar. Nitish Kumar wanted the ‘Lav- Kush’ combination to continue. This is the Kurmi and Koiri combination which has played a very significant role in the freedom struggle and later as well, the source says. With 15% population in the state, their importance in Bihar politics can't be undermined, the source says.  Nitish Kumar also wanted to clear all doubts and gossip surrounding his son and then only put him forward for any important position, the source says. Recently Nishant Kumar, his son, was allowed to chair the legislature's meeting in the headquarters of JDU.

The next step would be to replace Sanjay Jha from acting national president with Nishant Kumar, to stop all rumours related to Sanjay Jha, one of his confidants, a source says. The appointment of two deputy CMs, Vinendra Yadav and Vijay Chaudhary has already cut to size the status of Lallan Singh and Sanjay Jha, sources say. A possibility is also emerging that after some time Nitish Kumar is likely to demand the CM chair for his son and the BJP would not be in a position to deny because it can be said that JDU also has 85 MLAs in the assembly, a source says. All this indicates that Nitish Kumar has not taken any decision in haste but after thorough consideration and consultation with his loyal team  since the inception of the JDU, source says.
