Nishikant Dubey once again crossed a line, according to sources familiar with the matter. Some political leaders tend to seek media attention without fully understanding the consequences of their statements, often commenting to please senior leadership in hopes of gaining influence within the government. In this instance, Dubey noted that individuals who had travelled to the UAE, leaving India with their passports, suggested they may have been aware of the risks involved in such a decision.

This comment was perceived as an indirect criticism of the UAE's ruler. It is well known that India places significant importance on its relationship with the UAE, as exemplified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally going to the airport to receive Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his brief visit, which lasted only a few hours, according to reports. Additionally, the foreign affairs chief of the BJP, without specifying a name, condemned Dubey's comment, emphasising concerns over diplomatic propriety and the need for responsible messaging, the source says.?
