?It appears that the Governor of Bihar was aware of his imminent transfer from the state. While officials assured that he would be relocated to West Bengal, the noticeable cleaning and whitewashing of his bungalow in Delhi, observed by journalists, suggests there may be more to the story, according to a reliable source. Some close associates of Arif Mohammad reported that the Governor was renovating a new library in his residence, which required extensive updates. Prior to the appointment of a new Governor, Arif Mohammad took leave for an undisclosed destination. He was brought to Bihar, fully aware of his strong relations with Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar, believing that with his political experience and strategic insight, he could effectively manage any shifting political landscape in favour of the BJP, according to the source. However, it is likely that after convincing Nitish Kumar to resign and submitting to a new leadership arrangement, his influence in the state diminished. The central government then issued directives to Arif Mohammad Khan, possibly favouring a candidate with a military background, Lt General (Retd) Syed Ata Husain, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM & Bar, who was considered more suitable to implement strict rules. The situation remains highly fluid, but if political developments follow the BJP's strategic moves, the long-standing aspiration to install a non-Nitish government may soon be realised, the source says.?
