BJP's Masterstroke In West Bengal

Generally said that West Bengal do not go by the caste factor but this time the BJP tried to play the caste card in the state elections, a source says. In the first phase out of 152 seats, 16 seats were reserved for ST and 68 for SC. These 84 seats were very important for the BJP so in north Bengal the BJP focused on the Rajwanshi and Matua communities for the first time, the source says. It's a common perception that the BJP is a party of urban areas, but in West Bengal, the party is more popular in villages than in urban areas, so it can be said easily that the BJP has made inroads in all areas of West Bengal and the sympathizers of the Communist Party have changed their loyalty to some extent and support the BJP, a source says. This has made the election very interesting and only between TMC and BJP, the other parties are nowhere to be seen, according to a source.
