The importance of West Bengal is evident from the itinerary of the PM and HM in the state, sources say. The HM held 66 rallies at 63 places, and the PM held 18 rallies at 18 places. The HM remained in the state for almost a month, sources say, supervising the arrangements and issuing instructions to the party workers. The observer sees this election as a close vote count between the CM of the state and the HM of the country, the source says.  It's almost 60% road shows led by the HM in the state apart from general meetings and corner meetings, the source says.

The thumping victory of BJP in West Bengal was result of intense and strategic planning weaved out by Amit Shah's personal intervention and closely monitored electoral developments, it would not be incorrect to say that this win is a special feather in HM's cap.
