According to top sources, the high-power committee led by Prime Minister to select the next CBI Director is scheduled next week, i.e., 12th May. The incumbent CBI director is set to complete his one-year extended tenure by this month's end.
Top sources say that five names are leading in a heavyweight panel.
1- DG ITBP Shatrujeet Kapoor IPS
2- Yogesh Gupta IPS
3- Director NPA Amit Garg IPS
4- DGP Maharashtra Sadanand Date IPS
5- DG CRPF G.P Singh IPS
Among the heavyweight panel, a few names that are doing the rounds are likely to be excluded due to service time constraints.
